Assistant Soccer Coach

Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree. Must effectively communicate with student-athletes, coaches, administration, support staff and the public. Demonstrated knowledge and adherence to NCAA, Conference, State, Institutional, and Department rules and regulations is required. Must demonstrate communication, supervisory, and organization skills and an ability to successfully motivate student-athletes academically and athletically. Commitment to working with multi-cultural populations and have an awareness of issues affecting women and minorities. CPR/First Aid, and NCAA Rules and Regulations certification required (may obtain within 3 months of hire).
Preferred Requirements: Experience coaching/playing soccer at the collegiate level or related experience preferred. Experience in Division I preferred.
Position Description: Assist in developing, organizing, directing, advancing, and administering a successful Division I Soccer program. Recruit quality student-athletes. Assist in the facilitation of the academic performance and success of student-athletes which includes retention and culminates with graduation. Administrative duties, which may include but is not limited to ordering/selection of equipment and supplies, arranging practice and competitive facilities, team travel, assisting administration with scheduling, and budget planning, management, and adherence. Assist in establishing a team culture that ensures appropriate and acceptable student-athlete and staff behavior on and off the field. Demonstrate knowledge and skills to assist in leading a competitive Division I Soccer program. Remain current on all trends, methods, and innovations related to soccerl and coaching. Participate in program and departmental fundraising, public relations, and promotional efforts. Assist in the coordination of an outreach program that encourages student-athlete and sport program visibility in the University and local community. Assist with camps and clinics. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Salary and Benefits: Position is a full-time 12 month position. Salary is $20,000-22,000. Benefits include health, life, and dental insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement programs. Other benefits may be available based on position.
